"M. B. Person Will
State of North Carolina, Moore County
In the Name of God Amen. I Murdock B. Person being sick and weak of 
body, but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding 
considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof to the 
end that I may be the better prepared to leave this world, when it shall please 
my God to call me hence, have now determined to direct what disposition will 
be made of my property after my decease and after maturely considering the 
circumstances and constitution of all those among whom are my heirs at Law 
and the Objects of Gratitude and affection in my Judgement my estate should 
be distributed I do make publish and declare this to be my last will and 
testament hereby revoking and making null and void all former last wills and 
testaments and writings in the nature of last wills and testaments by me 
heretofore made.
And my will is first that after my decease my body shall be discretely buried 
without ostentation or unnecessary expenses and that my funeral charges and 
last debts shall be paid by my Executor herein after named.
And as the residue of my Estate and property with which God hs blessed me 
and which shall not be required for the payment of my Debts, funeral charges 
and the Expenses in and above the Execution of this my will and the 
administration of my Estate.
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Lydia J. Person and my Infant 
daughter Frances Person, all my real and personal Estate of every Kind and 
description that I am in possession of or that may be due and coming to me on 
account of the real estate undivided between myself, Samuel J. Person and 
William M. Person debts owing to me and all property that I may be entitled to 
in any respect whatsoever.
To be Equally divided between my said beloved wife and daughter, Lydia J. 
Person & Frances Person share and share alike of both my real and personal 
Estate of whatsoever Kind.-
	I do nominate and appoint my worthy friend Saml. C. Bruce to be the 
sole Executor of this, my last will and testament, the testimony whereof this 
Instrument is signed sealed Published and declared by the said Murdock B. 
Person to be his last will and testament in the Presence of us who at his 
request and in his presence do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto:

Codicil to the foregoing will. Whereas I Murdock B. Person have made my 
last will and testament in writing having date 31st day of March A.D. 1851 
and have therein omitted to direct and instruct Saml C. Bruce my Executor 
therein named to sell all my real Estate, at such time and upon such terms as 
will be most Advantageous to my Estate, and divide the proceeds arriving 
from siad sale as directed in said will.
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 31st day of March 
AD 1851 signed sealed published and Declared by the said Murdock B. 
Person to be a codicil or part or his last will and testament in the presence of 
us who act athis request and in his presence do subscribe our names as
